We are pleased to announce that SOS Radio Week 2017 has been launched. It will start at 00:00 on Saturday the 21st January and end at 23:59 on Sunday the 29th January.
This years event will follow the format we introduced last year. As usual all Amateur Radio stations, individual and clubs, are invited to take part, but instead of it being predominantly a fund-raising event we’re making it a celebration event.
Participants are still encouraged to raise money for the RNLI during the event but we’d like to have as many stations on the air to promote the work of the brave lifeboat crews and beach lifeguards that selflessly go out to save lives at sea, often in the most appalling weather conditions.
We’d like stations to register their intention to operate during the event so that we can run our Worked SOS Radio Week award scheme to encourage operators all around the world to work our registered stations.
To register your intention to operate please visit our registration page.
