Getting involved in SOS Radio Week is easy – simply select the ‘Registration Form‘ option from the menu above and sign up.

Anyone can take part

Absolutely anyone who holds an Amateur Radio license and lives in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Guernsey, Jersey or the Isle of Man can take part. There’s also no age or license limit – everyone from the youngest M3/M6 foundation license holder to the oldest advanced license holder can register.

During 2010 a group of children from Grammar School from Chatham was on the air and raised a lot of money for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).

No time constraints

We’re not bothered whether you can only operate for a few hours, a day or two or the whole week.

Operate from anywhere you like

We’re similarly not interested in where you operate from, be it the car, home, on top of a mountain,  a shopping centre or an RNLI lifeboat station.

During 2010 we had a portable station operate from a gas rig in the North Sea, he was a popular contact.

Every penny raised makes a big difference to the RNLI

The RNLI relies entirely on voluntary donations, so every contact you make goes a long way to helping this wonderful charity do the magnificent work it does.
